| On July 1, 2011, Amorita sailed proudly back into her home waters of Newport, RI. Looking better than ever, on a beautiful summer day, she passed Beavertail Point (where she was sunk) and enjoyed a heroes welcome from cheering onlookers at Castle Hill. On July 3 she took line honors in the Robert H. Tiedemann Regatta, finally completing the trip around Conanicut Island in which she was sunk 4 years earlier. | |
